During the early stages of his career, Dr. Thomas gained valuable expertise in the field as principal engineer at Amway Nutrilite, as technical specialist with Pfizer, and in management positions with Griffith Laboratories and USG. In order to stay abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Parenteral Drug Association, the American Society for Quality, and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.
An expert in his field, Dr. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and a master's degree and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Likewise, he is a certified quality engineer, holds a certificate in manufacturing system optimization from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and earned a certificate in medical product QSR's from UC Irvine. Dr. Thomas has scientific publications and has received a patent for the enzymatic method for preparing trans esterified oils. In light of his outstanding body of work he has received numerous recognitions in his corporate career including four consecutive year nominations for R&D awards at Amway Nutrilite.
