SHOW LOW, AZ, March 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daris "Lady" Gibbons has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mrs. Gibbons is distinguished for more than 15 years of dedication to the Medieval Mayhem Renaissance Faire event and seven years of running the Mountain of Hope Foundation, a family-founded nonprofit organization that provides gap and trades scholarships to local Navajo and Apache counties, AZ students. As a co-founder and executive director, she dedicates herself to the mission of giving back to the community while bringing immersive, educational, and cultural events to life. In her role, she oversees operations, networks with business and community leaders, and spearheads communications efforts to convey the foundation's tagline, "Not all education looks the same."
An expert in events and marketing, Mrs. Gibbons initially held the Medieval Mayhem Renaissance Faire with the intention of offering it as a one-time occasion to bring attention to a local business. The event ended up being so successful that she and her husband were encouraged to continue it on an annual basis. As a strong proponent of education, the couple established the foundation as a 501c3 non-profit with an initial mission to provide scholarship funds to their underprivileged community students. Today, her role draws heavily upon her vast experience in marketing and events management; as far back as early childhood, she was regularly exposed to her mother's work running an advertising agency and her father's career in radio sales, leading to a lifelong interest in the field.
During an earlier stage of her career, Mrs. Gibbons owned a day spa where she worked as a certified medical massage therapist. She has also been a licensed cosmetologist and held management positions in that industry as well as in retail sales. Well-qualified in her current field, she earned her Certified Festival and Event Executive status from the prestigious International Festival & Events Association. In addition to leading her own nonprofit, she is currently serving as a member of the board of directors for the Show Low Chamber of Commerce and is active with the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits.
Outside of work, Mrs. Gibbons enjoys spending time with her husband, an industrial electrician working with Nucor Steel, Kingman, and her two sons, who all currently reside in the Phoenix Metro area. When she is not busy with her own event production and foundation businesses and volunteering as a Show Low Chamber of Commerce board member, she enjoys attending other events. Mrs. Gibbons is also a lifelong learner and takes classes on a variety of subjects such as leadership, marketing, belly dancing, Spanish, and acting.
