GRAND MARAIS, MN, March 14, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Michael Meyer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than three decades of excellence in engineering education, Dr. Meyer has earned distinction as a chancellor emeritus with the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Having been a faculty member of the university since 1981, since 2019, he has focused his efforts on teaching a variety of courses in metalworking, welding, robotics and manufacturing engineering. Additionally, he has been a valued member of the American Society of Engineering Educators and has served for several decades as a Core Panelist in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Manufacturing Extension Partnership program.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Meyer began his career as a program director for manufacturing engineering for the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1994 and served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership from 1998 to 2008. During this time, he was the director of the University of Wisconsin-Stout's Stout Technology Transfer Institute in 1997 until becoming the dean of the College of Technology, Engineering, and Management in 2000. He continued his career as an assistant chancellor for state and federal relations for the university in 2007 and was the president of the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College from 2008 to 2014. He then was promoted to the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2014.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Meyer earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial education in 1980 and a Master of Science in management technology in 1983, both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. He then attained a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1995. Among his professional accomplishments, he was part of the leadership team honored with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and was named educator of the year by both Momentum Chippewa Valley and the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2000.
Within the coming years, Dr. Meyer intends to continue his career as an educator, having always had an inclination towards teaching, mentoring, and providing consulting services to develop current and future leaders.
