Leveraging more than a decade of service excellence as a pharmacist, Dr. Richards currently holds a position as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager and PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program Director at St. Joseph's Health, a healthcare system committed to serving the poor, vulnerable and underserved with dignity, charity, justice, and excellence. She also serves as the Board Secretary for the New Jersey Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, a state affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She has held this position more than five years due to the organization's focus on professional advocacy and education.
Dr. Richards graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Hampton University School of Pharmacy, Hampton, VA in 2009. After which, she was selected as one of the first pharmacy practice residents at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. It was there that she, a Paterson, NJ native, decided to continue a career of service and advocacy. She climbed the career ladder at St. Joseph's Health becoming a staff pharmacist, clinical pharmacist, clinical pharmacy coordinator, and now clinical pharmacy manager.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Richards made innumerable contributions to the profession of pharmacy practice in community service, research, advocacy, and education. Most notably, she has contributed to articles published in the following journals: Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, The American Surgeon, and Open Forum Infectious Diseases, and is the lead study pharmacist on several clinical trials at St. Joseph's Health.
In the coming years, Dr. Richards plans to expand her role in community service initiatives and clinical research in order to bring more attention to minority and/or underserved communities.
