Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in yoga instruction and mental health counseling, Ms. Mistry has earned distinction as the owner and clinical mental health counselor for Connections Therapy. Since 2021, she has focused her efforts on mindfulness-based therapy for treating patients with trauma. Additionally, she lends her expertise as a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. and Affiliates, the American Psychological Association, and the American Counseling Association.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Mistry raised and bred Quarter Horses, having one earn two Quarter Horse Congress titles and later placing sixth in the world. In a life changing move, she traveled to Mexico to live, where she began her career as a yoga instructor and eco-tour guide. She returned to the United States to pursue a career in energy healing and worked for Lite the Way as an intuitive healer. She worked in pilot program as a mindfulness instructor working with veterans and football players at the Eisenhower Center, as well as completing two internships with them for her Bachelor's degree in counseling. She served as an assistant for the Toledo City Paper of Adams Street Publishing and took a role as a social media assistant in 2011. Following this time, she served as a yoga and meditation instructor for Caring Alternatives in 2014 until becoming a mental health counselor for Creative Counseling Choices in 2021, then establishing her own business, Connections Therapy, in 2022.
Outside of her primary career efforts, Ms. Mistry is an accomplished author, having written "Forgotten Souls" in 2015, which is based on her experiences traveling the country, touring private and public government-funded shelters and interviewing homeless individuals. Published by ASA Publishing Company. She also wrote "Galisteo Nights" in 2020 and "My Gypsy Soul" in 2021. Among her professional accomplishments, she was acknowledged as a Master Artist by The Robert S. Duncanson Society in 2022.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Mistry earned a bachelor's degree in counseling with an emphasis on addictions and substance abuse from Grand Canyon University in 2016. She then attained a Master of Arts in clinical mental health from Eastern Michigan University. Well-qualified in her field, she is a licensed professional counselor.
