Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in diagnostic radiology and family practice, Dr. Meagher has earned distinction as an alpine patroller with HoliMont Ski Resort. Since 2021, he has focused his efforts on opening and closing the slopes, responding to medical emergencies in the lodge and handling traumatic injuries on the slopes. Additionally, he lends his expertise as a ski patrol volunteer for the resort.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Meagher began his career as an independent medical contractor until joining a private practice in 2003. Later that year, he became a diagnostic radiologist for Jamestown Radiologists, PC, taking a role at WCA hospital in Jamestown, NY. He later worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital from 2017 to 2020, retiring from medical practice in 2020. Additionally, he was a valued member of the Chautauqua Medical Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America, Inc., among other professional organizations.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Meagher completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and underwent an internship with the David Grant USAF Medical Center at the Travis Air Force Base in California. Prior to this accomplishment, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in neurobiology and behavior from Cornell University in 1978 and attained a Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University in 1982.
Within the coming years, Dr. Meagher intends to stay educated on health care reforms while continuing his work as an alpine patroller. He has translated his compassion as a physician to his work on the slopes, helping to keep people safe, treating injuries when they occur and going out of his way to communicate with people who are sick.
