Drawing on years of professional experience, Ms. Maginity presently excels as the executive director of New Gateways, Inc., where she previously worked as a client services coordinator. Likewise, she served as chair of the Oakland County Provider Alliance. Along with a team of nearly 45 direct caregivers, she serves those with developmental disabilities. Previously, she worked as a board member of the Association for Macomb Oakland Regional Center and as the secretary of the Oral Health Coalition for Adults with Disabilities. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Maginity gained valuable expertise in the field with the Oakland County Regional Interagency Community Coalition, the Oakland County Transition Network, and Easter Seals.
Outside of her work, Ms. Maginity contributes to her community through Naked K9 and Small Dog Rescue, ARC of Oakland County, the Michigan Assisted Living Association, and Incompass Michigan. An expert in her field, she completed a social work degree at Wayne State University, an Associate of Arts in business administration, management, and operations from Western International University, and a Bachelor of Science in applied behavior analysis and Autism from Ball State University. Subsequently, Ms. Maginity received a Master of Science in applied behavior analysis and Autism from his undergraduate alma mater and became a qualified intellectual disability professional through North Dakota State University, as well as a direct support specialist through Oakland Community College.
In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Maginity received the MORC Angel Caregiver Award in 2011 and the Professional Service Award from the ARC of Oakland County in 2020. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in providing unique services for individuals who may not have succeeded in other programs, receiving a grant through the United Way, and establishing a direct care apprenticeship program in Michigan. The cornerstone of her success lay with her great mentors, including the woman who hired her at New Gateways. In the near future, Ms. Maginity intends to dive deeper into ABA therapy, begin working with children, and expand the company's services into early intervention.
