PALO ALTO, CA, March 30, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Michelle Robell with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Robell celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

She grew up near Minneapolis, MN where she ice skated on ponds in the winter and twirled the baton all year long. She then spent her high school years in Poland, Ohio where she played on the tennis and softball teams.

After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology, summa cum laude, at Kent State University, she continued her studies at the University of New Haven, where she achieved a master's degree in industrial and organizational psychology. After completing two internships in New York City, she then drove from NYC to California to start her networking and corporate career journey. In 1991, she applied her master's degree as a compensation analyst with Xerox Engineering Systems in San Jose, CA. This lead to an executive compensation consulting position with the global management consulting firm Hewitt Associates (later known as Hewitt Aon). After many years and becoming a lightbulb leader for executive perks, she chose to pursue her purpose with a career change to education. Ms. Robell then went back to graduate school full time to earn her elementary multiple subject teaching credential from the Benerd School of Education – University of the Pacific.

She began her education career in 1998 as a teacher in the Mountain View Whisman School District, where she remained until 2000. Since 2000, she has served mostly as a first-grade teacher in the Palo Alto Unified School District. As an educator, her greatest joy is teaching students how to read and inspiring a growth mindset. She often finds success in knowing that she has made a positive impact on others. She has now accumulated over 25 years of teaching experience.

Adjacent to her primary professional duties, Ms. Robell has contributed to the Science Adoption Curriculum Committee in her school district, as well as several mathematics adoption committees. Furthermore, she has volunteered at the Stanford Emergency Department (ED) for more than 12 years (up until 2020), as well as trained volunteers in the ED from 2008 to 2020.

Ms. Robell attributes her success to her deeply rooted understanding of her purpose in life. She has always hoped to work in a field where her work is significant to others and teaching offers many opportunities. To her, success ranges from quantitative measures to internal milestones, to overall resilience, optimism and goal setting with meaning and purpose. She is grateful for all the mentors she encountered from each part of her school and professional journey. Looking forward, Ms. Robell hopes to become even more involved in her school district as an academic leader, mentor of new teachers and host to student teachers.
