Prior to obtaining her current role, she worked as a school administrator for the Liberty County School System, a professor learning specialist for ESS, and an assistant principal for Waldo Pafford Elementary School, Lewis Frasier Middle School, and Hinesville Middle School. During the early stages of her career, Dr. Keel gained valuable expertise in the field as a high school chorus and musical theater instructor for Bradwell Institute, taught piano and voice lessons, and various roles at the community theater.
Outside of her work, Dr. Keel contributes to her community as the vice president for membership for Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Organization for Women Educators. Previously, she was the Georgia State president for the organization. An expert in her field, she holds an Associate of Science from a junior college and a bachelor's degree in music education specializing in choral and general music with a minor in piano from the University of Montevallo. Subsequently, Dr. Keel received a Master of Education from Georgia Southern University, and a specialist degree and EdD in educational leadership and administration from Nova Southeastern University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Keel has achieved much, facilitating the first choral festival for her district as a choral chairman for the Georgia Music Educators Association, and serving one term as a school board member post-retirement. In honor of her professional achievements, she received a Membership Award from Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Organization for Women Educators and an Administration Award from the Georgia Music Educators Association. Similarly, Dr. Keel was named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers on three occasions. The cornerstone of her success lay in her desire to be a lifelong learner and her parents, who emphasized education. In the coming years, Dr. Keel intends to remain active at Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Organization for Women Educators by mentoring a young female professional.
