Mr. Seldner is a respected mathematician and research associate affiliated with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Karlsruhe, Germany, since 1986. During his distinguished tenure, he has specialized in computational physics, working with supercomputers. Mr. Seldner has also garnered recognition for assisting in creating specific physics lessons for professors and occasionally lecturing on their behalf when necessary.
Recognized as one of 11 Universities of Excellence in Germany, KIT offers more than 100 degree programs in natural and engineering sciences, economics, humanities, social sciences, and teaching. Grateful for his distinguished tenure at the institution, Mr. Seldner plans to retire on June 1, 2023.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Seldner was affiliated with the local research center and nuclear research center in Karlsruhe as a mathematician. From 1986 to 1990, he notably received a grant from the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology in Germany to support his research. Of all his research, Mr. Seldner's most significant achievement was finding a solution for a numerical problem via particle simulation. This method was subsequently documented and continues to be cited today.

He has also been involved in completing a book on genealogy that he started more than 20 years ago. Moreover, Mr. Seldner intends to publish a second book about genealogy and his family's history and was the editor for a book on Jewish life published in 2009.
Having been highly engaged with various civic organizations throughout his career, Mr. Seldner more recently served as the chairperson of the Karlsruhe Jewish Community between 2004 and 2016. He also served as a member of the Council of the Israelites of Baden (Oberrat der Israeliten Badens) from 1998 to 2014 and again between 2015 and 2016, and was a member of the board of directors of the organization's Central Council of Jews in Germany from 2009 to 2014. Among other roles, Mr. Seldner is a founding member and on the board of such organizations as the Association of Traditional Jews in Germany.
Mr. Seldner is highly educated, earning a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Bayreuth in Germany in 1985. He also speaks several languages, including German and English.
