Prior to this role, Dr. Anderson built a prolific career serving as a professor at the Frostburg State University from 2001 until 2022.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Anderson pursued an education at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in journalism in 1975, followed by a Master of Arts in economics from the Clemson University Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business in 1984. He continued his academic efforts at the Auburn University Harbert College of Business, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in economics in 1999. As a commitment to his field, he was active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Economic Association and the Southern Economic Association. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Anderson serves as an officer at the Williams Memorial Church of God in Christ.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Dr. Anderson has received multiple awards, including the University Academic Award from the Frostburg State University in 2011. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of his achievements as the chairman of Frostburg's Promotion and Tenure Sub Committee, where he was able to change the university's policy on tenure and promotions. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his commitment and dedication to his specialty. Looking toward the future, Dr. Anderson aspires to mentor future economists and writers, and hopes to continually work on more publications.
