After a long and successful career in psychology, Dr. Hardy-Gibson retired at 51 after more than 25 years in the field. A renowned expert in her field, she spent most of her career as a school psychologist, working with more than 100 emotionally disturbed children daily in the Fairfax County, Virginia school system.

Dr. Hardy-Gibson spent the last 5 years of her profession as a school psychologist for the Clark County school district where she worked as a high school psychologist for the Nevada school system and several years in the same capacity in Louisiana.

Besides her work as a school psychologist, Dr. Hardy-Gibson treated high-end clientele, including several well-known athletes. She also taught special education in the public school system, was an assistant professor at Louisiana State University, and worked for the University of Southern Mississippi as a sleep laboratory technician earlier in her career. Adding to her credibility in her field, Dr. Hardy-Gibson authored several scholarly articles in Psychology Review and contributed a chapter to a professional psychology textbook. She also conducted over 20 national and two international presentations in collaboration with several institutions on various mental health topics.

Throughout her career, Dr. Hardy-Gibson found gratification in knowing she prioritized her students' welfare. She also found fulfillment in helping parents realize that their children needed her services, which was sometimes difficult for them to admit and agree to. During her distinguished tenure, Dr. Hardy-Gibson was notably recognized as the only professional psychologist of all 135 practicing psychologists in Nevada with a doctorate.

Earning several degrees, Dr. Hardy-Gibson first received a Bachelor of Education in special education at Mississippi State University and a Master of Education in special education with an emphasis on gifted, talented, and mentally disabled children at the University of Southern Mississippi. She subsequently received a Doctor of Philosophy in psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Dr. Hardy-Gibson's passion for charity stems from her father, who frequently volunteered for Saint Jude Children's Hospital while she was coming of age. Therefore, she has been volunteering for the hospital since the sixth grade. Among many activities, she has supported fundraising activities organized by the hospital, such as the Saint Jude Radiothon and Bike-A-Thon events. Dr. Hardy-Gibson also credits her success as a psychologist to her father for always supporting her career and education.
