Mr. Mendoza's broad expertise in the legal field began in 2016 as a civil prosecutor with the Victoria District Attorney's Office shortly after he graduated from law school. As the sole designated CPS prosecutor, he represented the department in the removal proceedings for abused and neglected children. Mr. Mendoza subsequently became a prosecutor for the Misdemeanor Trial Bureau with Fort Bend County before garnering experience with felony investigations. Additionally, Mr. Mendoza was a private attorney for the Paxton Law Firm, a prominent firm in Houston, as a member of its litigation team.
During his career, Mr. Mendoza has spoken publicly at the Victoria College Police Academy in Victoria, Texas, educating future law enforcement about the law, particularly driving while intoxicated investigations and trial preparation. He enjoys giving back his time and expertise to the community.
Mr. Mendoza pursued his studies in his home state of Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature with a minor in Spanish at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2013, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Texas A&M University in 2015. While pursuing his law degree, he clerked for the Robert Alonzo Law Firm and the Law Office of Nicole Knox, interned with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in the felony trial division, and served as the board president of advocates at Texas A&M School of Law. Additionally, he completed a post-bar internship at the Law Office of Nicole Knox. Apart from his law education, Mr. Mendoza also sought and became a certified yoga instructor.
To remain committed to his field, Mr. Mendoza is an active member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. He finds inspiration in his father, a retired U.S. Army veteran, and his mother, a district court judge in El Paso, Texas.
