Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in designing and R&D of power transformers, Mr. Coreno-Alonso has earned distinction as a senior electrical engineer for Delta Star Inc. Since 2016, he has focused his efforts on leading the electrical design of transformers, including purchasing materials, preparing the laboratory for testing, creating the instructions for building the transformers and repairing them by removing the internal parts and recreating the original design.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Coreno-Alonso began his career as a senior electrical designer for Siemens in 2001-2008. During this time, he served as a professor for master's degree students in electrical engineering for ITESI in 2005. In 2008 he took a role as a lead designer for General Electric. In 2010, he became the head of research and development for Siemens and joined Jordan Transformer LLC in 2016 as a senior design engineer.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Coreno-Alonso has also contributed a wealth of research to the field, including co-authoring "Optimization and Development of Cooling Equipment for Power Transformers" and "Method to Obtain the Propagation of Overvoltage Transients in Windings", which was published in 2016 by Lambert Academic Publishing. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have received recognition for designing the transformers that interconnect the electric networks of Mexico with Central America.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Coreno-Alonso earned an engineer's degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico in 1997. Following this achievement, he attained a master's degree in electrical power systems from CINVESTAV del IPN Unidad Guadalajara in 2001 and a master's degree in management from Universidad de Guanajuato in 2013.
Within the coming years, Mr. Coreno-Alonso intends to develop a new technology to be used in old cars, transformers and generators to reduce the use of expensive materials such as copper, aluminum, lithium, etc. This would also lead to a reduction in the mining for materials, avoiding the destruction of natural areas, reducing pollution, and danger to mine workers.
