Mr. Sandhaus is a financial services executive celebrating more than 30 years of expertise in his field. Since 2012, he has been the managing director at Optima Asset Management, where his work focuses on building relationships with institutional clients and raising assets to support the fund's product offerings. Raised in Switzerland, Mr. Sandhaus earned his Master of Business Administration from HEC Lausanne in 1991 and studied at the International Finance and Commodity Institute.
Mr. Sandhaus began his career as an assistant vice president at UBP Geneva in 1991, departing in 1994 to join the New York office of Salomon Smith Barney. He considers being hired at Salomon Smith Barney as an international candidate and a relatively junior banker to have been one of the highlights of his career, and within two years he had become a million-dollar producer. From 2000 until 2004, Mr. Sandhaus was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers' London office, where he became the largest producer of structured interest rate products. He was named a director for Deutsche Bank in New York in 2004, where he continued to gain a reputation for high achievement in equity, asset management, and structured products.
In addition to his direct work in finance, Mr. Sandhaus is an angel investor and strategic advisor for Meritas Technology an early stage VC, an affiliation he has maintained since 2020. He is active in the Swiss Society of New York, and is a polyglot with fluency in English, Spanish, and French. Mr. Sandhaus credits his success to his passion for his chosen work and to the inspiration of his father, a Holocaust survivor, surgeon, and author. In the coming years, Mr. Sandhaus hopes to gain experience working with a new asset class, and to continue to make an impact in his field.
