Following his father's motto, "vendors first," Mr. Wear strives to maintain excellent professional relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction. Mr. Wear's father notably served in the Korean War. After his service, he became a program manager for Encyclopedia Britannica. Shortly thereafter, he founded Popco Inc. Finding constant inspiration in him, Mr. Wear looks forward to future success and keeping the family legacy alive. He is also eager to launch Popco's new and improved website and continue expanding its reach with a goal of $4 million in sales.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Wear garnered experience as a union maid for the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, Local 17, at the Radisson South Hotel. He also spent many years as a janitor and found success as the owner of The Washburne Company, a business he started in the early 1980s and kept for over a decade.
Mr. Wear has been involved in his local community as a member of The Minneapolis Club since 2021. He has also been affiliated with The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center in Livermore, Maine, the Elihu B. Washburne House in Galena, Illinois, the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis, and the SS Jeremiah O'Brien Museum in San Francisco.
After graduating from The Blake School in 1982, Mr. Wear prepared for his career by earning a Bachelor of Science in hotel and restaurant management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1987. He subsequently received a certificate of completion through the Academy of Accountancy in 1990.
