Now retired after four decades in health care, Ms. Rhodes reached the pinnacle of her career when she was named as the team leader of neurosurgery at Athens Regional Medical Center between 1985 and 2003. Learning the value of work ethic from her mother while coming of age, Ms. Rhodes was constantly inspired by her throughout her career. She also notes her husband's patience, understanding, and encouragement as she pursued her professional goals. Her lifelong dream to become a nurse also played a role in her success.
Ms. Rhodes is active in her church as a parishioner at Beech Haven Baptist Church. She also contributes to her community by donating to various local causes, including those that support paralyzed veterans. Moreover, Ms. Rhodes is avid about animal welfare.
