Having been associated with Robertaccio Funeral Home Inc. since 1996, a family-owned business, he is involved with approximately 700 funerals annually. As a devoted spiritual person, Mr. LiCausi also frequently offers prayer services at the cemeteries for free to families of the deceased as an ordained minister. A gratifying career, Mr. LiCausi considers every service a celebration of life. He is compassionate and empathetic and goes above and beyond to ensure a personalized service for the families in mourning. Mr. LiCausi also takes pride in never denying someone from seeing their deceased loved ones due to money. He has also been known for occasionally providing free services to parents who have lost a child.
Apart from his responsibilities at the funeral parlor, Mr. LiCausi became recognized as a prominent business owner. Having established Spider Bite Beer Company in 2008 as the co-owner, he grew the business into a global operation before selling his share to his business partner in 2019. Spider Bite notably received two Gold Medals and was voted as the Best Brewery in New York State twice.
Invested in his community, Mr. LiCausi speaks at area high schools several times per year to educate them about careers in the funeral industry. He is also a member, former president, and Paul Harris fellow of his local Rotary International. Mr. LiCausi previously served on a local hospital board for two years, and as president of an advisory board club.
Mr. LiCausi became interested in the field while in high school. After graduating, he was accepted to the State University of New York in Farmingdale, through which he earned a Bachelor of Science in mortuary science. He subsequently received certification as a funeral service practitioner, pre-planning consultant, and crematory operator.
To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. LiCausi is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of America. He recently received the Saint Charles Hospital Tree of Life Award for his bravery after contracting COVID-19, being put on a ventilator for two weeks, and surviving. During the height of the pandemic, Mr. LiCausi was performing approximately 20 funerals each week.
Mr. LiCausi has been married to his wife Dona for 30 years and has two children, Cassandra, an RN, and Michael, a college student studying finance and playing Division 1 hockey.
