Prior to his current role, Mr. Anselmi began his career as a medical and radiology transcriptionist and editor for Sharp HealthCare in 2005, working there until 2016. Working for Sharp Memorial part-time allowed Mr. Anselmi the opportunity to begin and advance his second career within the mental health field. During this time, he underwent a training practicum at a crisis house with the Community Research Foundation in 2008, and served as a bereavement counselor for San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine in 2011. Additionally, he functioned as a GUIDE counselor for the City of Carlsbad Police Department in 2012 and resumed working as a bereavement counselor for The Elizabeth Hospice in 2014.
Mr. Anselmi continued his career as a pre-licensed therapist with Pathways Community Services in 2016 and was a licensed marriage and family therapist for StepHouse Recovery in 2017. The following year, he joined the Reflections Recovery Center in a similar capacity. Among his professional accomplishments, he is proud to have been featured on a Channel 4 news story about coping with survivor's guilt with Vikki Vargas and Kevin Dahlgren in 2017.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Anselmi earned a Bachelor of Science in cognitive science from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Arts in counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy from Argosy University, San Diego in 2009. Well-qualified in his field, he is a California licensed marriage and family therapist and holds current certification in performing CPR from the National CPR Foundation.
Within the coming years, Mr. Anselmi intends to publish a self-help book, exercising his creativity and elucidating the workings of therapy sessions and counseling. Likewise dedicated to civil advocacy, he has volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity, as well as Camp Erin as a volunteer grief counselor.
