Kimberly Clisbee Found Success in a Number of Fields

Ms. Clisbee has a wealth of work and life experience

PALMDALE, CA, May 05, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly Clisbee has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Born in Malden, Massachusetts, to Kathryn Murray and Russell Clisbee, Ms. Clisbee embarked upon her professional path at 13, advancing from a donut finisher to an assistant manager for Dunkin Donuts in Medford, Massachusetts, from 1986 to 1992. In the following years, she succeeded in several industries, including as a property manager for the Clark Inc. Property Management Company from 1992 to 1996, a shift manager for Blockbuster Video from 1995 to 1997, and a semiconductor wafer fabricator for Analog Devices from 1996 to 1998. Ms. Clisbee's work as a fabricator sparked her interest in computer technology and communications. Additionally, she has a certificate in artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies from MIT Slone (2021) and plans to further her communications education.

Ms. Clisbee's journey changed when she was presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live her dream of becoming a professional martial artist, serving with Tokyo Joe's Studio of Self-Defense in Nashua, New Hampshire as an office manager, tournament team director, senior instructor, and program director between 1999 and 2008.

During this time, Ms. Clisbee obtained her first-degree black belt in Shaolin Kempo in 2000, mere days after a debilitating knee injury, powering through unimaginable pain to break past her limits and achieve what she now defines as a highlight of her career. By 2006, Ms. Clisbee had earned her third-degree black belt and was a national tournament competitor and title holder. Her career in martial arts was an incredibly fulfilling experience, enabling her to interact with myriad cultures, study abroad in the Philippines in 2009, and eventually become inducted into the World Martial Arts Federation Hall of Fame as Female Instructor of the Year in 2007. Currently, Ms. Clisbee is writing a book that will be published in 2023, encompassing her time as a professional martial artist, her tireless work in advocacy, and her experiences as a mother.

Ms. Clisbee has a wealth of work and life experience. She was a six-inch diffusion semiconductor wafer fabrication group leader with Texas Instruments Incorporated from 1998 to 2000 and a wafer fabrication diffusion manufacturer for Analog devices from 1995-1998. Ms. Clisbee was also a licensed bartender and worked as a lounge at Margarita's Mexican Cantina as a lounge/diner server and staff trainer. She also worked in several other industries, including her favorite customer services experience as assistant manager of Blockbuster Video in the mid-late 1990s.

September 11, 2001, motivated Ms. Clisbee to change the focus of her career from martial arts to criminal justice and national security, but not right away. Having witnessed the heartache of her Muslim students and their families made her feel the need to do something, and with her martial arts skills on point, decided to go to school and attempted to earn a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. However, Ms. Clisbee's dreams of being a federal agent would never come to fruition.

In 2010 Ms. Clisbee gave birth to her only child, a daughter named Leilani Kathryn. Leilani was born with the need for surgery. She became the subject of systematic medical servitude by LA County officials and Children's Hospital Los Angeles, forcing Ms. Clisbee to quit school, leave the working world, and spend a decade trying to save her child's life from white-collar criminals. As a result of leaving college and having student loans, Ms. Clisbee had to pay the government twenty-two thousand dollars to return. She wore the same five outfits from Walmart, deprived herself of luxuries, paid off her loans in two years, and returned to college. Ms. Clisbee had to rebuild her life from the bottom up and, in eight years, made it to the top with the world's weight on her back, proving most situations are escapable with hard work and available resources. The systematic abuse also taught Ms. Clisbee something most individuals in her field don't understand, the true inner workings of the system. She learned the ins and outs of local and state government and every layer due to her experiences and can add that expertise to her writing and teachings. Ms. Clisbee changed her path from federal agent to philosopher in law enforcement and behavioral science and public policy administration, and in doing so, has saturated her collegiate field, making her one of the most certified professionals in the criminal justice industry. She has earned a BA in criminal justice and behavioral science in 2017, an MA in criminal justice and behavioral science – globally related issues in 2019 from Purdue University Global, and an MA in criminal justice philosophy in 2021. She is presently pursuing a double PhD in the philosophy of criminal justice and behavioral science, as well as law and public policy administration from Walden University.

Since 2007, Ms. Clisbee has been selflessly dedicated as a community advocate for the pediatric disabled population and systemic abuse. As a result of her actions with the Department of Parks and Recreation, she was able to have two local parks in her community install adaptive swings for disabled youth. Furthermore, Ms. Clisbee has given back in the healthcare field as a licensed home health aide with ASAP Nursing and Staffing Agency in Palmdale, California, since 2016.

Ms. Clisbee received the 2019 Elinor Glenn Scholarship for Academic Achievement and was proudly elected as the Golden Key International Honor Society president from 2022 to 2023. She attributes her stellar success to her love for her daughter and her need to protect her and teach the world about disability injustices so the voiceless will have a voice. In the coming years, Ms. Clisbee hopes to continue transforming public policy to help others while simultaneously working in academia as a college professor, contributing to government technologies, furthering her research on prison reform, and completing her law degree to become a civil rights attorney.
