Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in hotel and resort designs, Lek has earned distinction as a senior project designer with JERDE since 2005; he has focused his efforts on design planning and elevating design concepts following building codes. He compiles design components based on clients' preferences, collaborating with his colleagues on material selections and detailing components.
With over 22 years of experience, Lek's formidable approach to design looks to create memorable places around the world for people to enjoy, visit, and come back to. A graduate of Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State Northridge, Lek continues to explore the creative process that gives a project its own unique touch. He subsequently served as a docent volunteer for The Getty Center Museum from 2012 until 2019.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Lek completed coursework in photography from UCLA Extension and studied liberal arts, sciences, general studies and humanities at Marymount California University in 1988. Following this time, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge in 1995 and a master's degree in architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1999. In addition to these achievements, he was recognized as an outstanding student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona for his architectural work and furniture design for his master's degree, which was featured in an exhibit at the university.
Within the coming years, Lek intends to continue his work, focusing his involvement on meaningful projects that will become positive elements for the community. He also aims to serve as a motivational speaker, assisting people who are struggling to achieve their own success.
