Dr. Williams' long and distinguished career began in 1999 as an associate degree nurse at Saint Joseph's Medical Center, a part of the Dignity Health network, in Stockton, California. After more than 12 years representing the health care facility, she became the director of nursing operations before ultimately being named vice president and chief nurse in 2022. Dr. Williams is notably an expert in medical-surgical and post-anesthesia care.

As a volunteer throughout her community, Dr. Williams has taught and trained law enforcement, fire department personnel, and local church staff members how to identify possible sex trafficking victims. She also helped develop a curriculum to implement a human trafficking response protocol. Additionally, Dr. Williams co-founded the HOPE Program, which has elevated and changed the lives of many families.
Possessing a rich educational background, Dr. Williams earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1999, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at California State University in 2002, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership in 2010, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Reno in 2014. She remains a member of Chi Eta Phi and Delta Sigma Theta. To stay aware of developments in her field, Dr. Williams is a member and past president of the Association of California Nurse Leaders.
Commended for her expertise, Dr. Williams was recognized with a Nurse Innovation Award from the Association of California Nursing Leaders, a Susan B. Anthony Award, and, more recently, a Bridge Award for Bridges Over Health from Amelia Ann Adams' Whole Life Center in 2022. Dr. Williams attributes her success to the support of her family, her mentors, and her team.
