ROSWELL, NM, May 12, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sigrid I. Webb has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Webb worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for over ten years in offices across Mississippi, Texas, and New Mexico.
Involved in school counseling for more than 15 years, Ms. Webb garnered expertise as the former Director of Special Services at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. During this time, she was successful in helping increase enrollment in her Department by nearly 100%. Ms. Webb was innovative in recruitment of new students exiting high school by developing a video recruitment tool which was sent out nationally and worldwide. Ms. Webb credits Dr. Steven Gamble and Dusty Lewis in assisting her in making this extraordinary college program for students with disabilities a great success.
Ms. Webb joined Roswell Independent School District in Roswell, New Mexico, in 2019. While counseling students at various schools within the District, she strives to follow the district's culture of cultivating character, celebrating diversity, spotting post trauma, and promoting the mental health of every student. Ms. Webb notably counsels approximately 40 individual students each week. She also conducts threat assessments and Social-Emotional learning classes. In addition to her responsibilities to educators and students, Ms. Webb participates in continual educational training through the Southern Regional Education Board, which keeps counselors current on ASCA standards.
She gives credit to the RISD Safe Schools Liaison, Mr. L.J. Harrell, for conducting eight safety drills each year, modifying school building structures to enhance safety, and for training school personnel on ALICE, a world-renowned active shooter response program. Mr. Harrell assures that RISD personnel are prepared to handle any outside threat or crisis. This confidence in personal and school safety is something she tries to convey to every student she sees.
Highly educated, Ms. Webb graduated from Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1987 and a Master of Education in counseling psychology in 1992. She also received rehabilitation and school counseling licenses in New Mexico and a level III school counselor license.
To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Webb is a member of the National Education Association, and serves as treasurer of the Roswell Education Association.
Ms. Webb credits her professional success to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Webb, for serving as her number-one support system and "raising her right" - God first. She also notes her passion, ethical standards, and values to her continued growth are supported by two extraordinary educators, Ms. Lisa Burris and Mrs. Denise Havens, and by one extraordinary son, Miles.
