Mrs. Hornbeck is an established mental health therapist and licensed professional counselor who established Balanced Minds Counseling LLC in Denver, Colorado, in 2019. As an expert in her field, she provides trauma-informed treatment services to patients with acute and chronic symptoms, behavioral issues, trauma symptoms, and many other mental health issues related to attachment, trauma, anxiety, anger, and relationships. Mrs. Hornbeck presently offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
Throughout the course of her professional career, Mrs. Hornbeck has also specialized in forensic psychology, having worked with individuals on the Sex Offender Registry, providing them with rehabilitation and reintegration assistance. Mrs. Hornbeck graduated from Colorado State University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in philosophy. She subsequently received a master's degree from Regis University in 2019. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Sigma Iota, and Phi Kappa Phi. To remain aware of developments in her field, Mrs. Hornbeck is a professional member of the American Counseling Association.

Her practice was named as the Best Mental Health Practice in the area in 2022 and 2023 and inducted into the Business Hall of Fame in 2023.
