Since obtaining the role in 2018, he has maintained responsibility for overseeing the capital budget for the company's North American consumer business and supervising global capital management systems. Prior to obtaining his current position, he worked as an operation's senior consultant for the baby and child care business between 2012 and 2018.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Barber gained valuable professional expertise with Kimberly-Clark in numerous positions, including research and engineering, manufacturing, project management, information technology, and finance. He was also a key leader for the implementation of Kimberly-Clark's SAP forecast-to-stock workstream. In addition, Mr. Barber led teams that created strategic plans and maintained manufacturing systems across many regions all across the world. Outside of his work, he contributes to his community as a member of the board at his local school and church, as well as several Marriott Vacation properties.
An expert in his field, Mr. Barber holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and engineering from Queen's University and an MBA in information technology and finance from York University's Schulich School of Business. Subsequently, he became a professional engineer through Professional Engineers Ontario. Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, he has received numerous patents for quality management and intelligent manufacturing, feed-forward controls in event-based manufacturing systems, an intelligent agent system and method for evaluating data integrity in process information databases, and many more.
In light of his professional achievements, Mr. Barber earned the CEO Award for Smart Risk Taking from Kimberly-Clark. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his innovations in the Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) space where many of his patents are grounded. Many software companies have leveraged these innovations into their own product offerings. The cornerstone of his success lay in his work ethic, curiosity, and his desire to continue learning. In the coming years, Mr. Barber intends to nurture the next generation of professionals before retiring from Kimberly-Clark and parlaying his knowledge to others as a consultant.
