Having lost her father in 2016, Mrs. Laughlin had difficulty grappling with her grief, especially in a society where grief and mental health support are both severely lacking. However, she is now in a place where she is no longer afraid to educate others about the importance of grieving. Today, she makes it her mission to normalize grief in every way possible through her business.
Leading to the founding of her business, Jess spent 7 years with Dispatch Media Group in Columbus, Ohio aiding in the production of their corporate events and consumer shows. She further evolved her events experience as the Events Producer for the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Both roles focused Jess' organizational and interpersonal skills and created her diverse network of connections throughout Ohio.
To prepare for her career, Mrs. Laughlin earned a Bachelor of Arts in art studies, graphic design, and photography from Otterbein University. She also received certification in nonprofit management from Columbus State Community College.
Recognizing her accomplishments in entrepreneurship, Mrs. Laughlin was highlighted in a 2022 VoyageOhio article titled 'Inspiring Conversations with Jess Laughlin of xoLaughlinCo.' She has also been featured as a guest on a local podcast, Spirit of EQ, sharing her story to help others understand that they are not alone in their grief journey.
