Dr. Albright is a retired educator who began his tenure at Florida State University in Tallahassee in 1963. Recognized with several promotions during his tenure, he rose from assistant to full professor. Apart from teaching physics courses, he spent 15 years as a professor of humanities between 1980 and 1995. He later worked as a professor of physics and department head of chemistry and physics at Purdue University Calumet (now Purdue University Northwest) in Hammond, Indiana. Upon his retirement, Dr. Albright received the designation of professor emeritus with Florida State University.
As an extension of his scholarly work, Dr. Albright was a visiting professor at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago during 1990. He also taught the Latin language to doctoral candidates there who needed assistance in passing the necessary language examination, among further professional affiliations.
A widely published writer, Dr. Albright was the co-author of the book Introduction to Atomic and Nuclear Physics with Henry Semat. He also authored, co-authored and edited several other publications and contributed chapters to books, including chapter three of the monograph Airy Functions and Applications to Physics, which is about his discovery of Airy functions in the field of mathematics.
An alumnus of Susquehanna University, Dr. Albright earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and physics in 1959. He then attended the University of Wisconsin—Madison where he achieved both a Master of Science in physics and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics in 1961 and 1964, respectively.
Dr. Albright was associated with several prominent professional organizations during his illustrious teaching career. Among these were the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Physical Society, the Institute on Religion in an Age of Science and the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society.
Recognizing his success in education, Dr. Albright received a President's Award for Teaching in 1980 and a Teaching Incentive Award in 1994 from Florida State University. He was also honored with a John Templeton Foundation Model Course Award from the John Templeton Foundation in 1994. A celebrated Marquis listee, Dr. Albright has been showcased in the 45th through 50th editions of Who's Who in America and the 20th edition of Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
