Since establishing the company as its Director of Operations in 2016, Mr. Clark has positioned GC LabTech with technology, multiple Lean-Principles and expanded its capacity to hundreds of thousands of tests annually. Prior to joining GC LabTech, Inc., Mr. Clark gained considerable private-sector leadership experience serving as Director of Donor Services for the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center and Regional Blood Bank Manager for Baptist Health System, both of San Antonio, TX. Previously, he served in numerous roles as a Biomedical Laboratory Officer and Scientist for the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Captain in the USAF's Biomedical Sciences Corps. During his military career, Mr. Clark completed multiple assignments within the United States and served twice in the Middle East, completing special training in biological warfare detection and expeditionary medical practices. Of his numerous professional achievements, he is particularly proud of his promotion from Enlisted to Officer rank, establishing and leading an international subsidiary of a global biopharma enterprise as well as his recognition with two awards in 2022, including a Health 2.0 Conference Outstanding Leadership Award and Best Laboratory in San Antonio Award.
Mr. Clark, a native of Dayton Texas, completed his freshman year of college at Stephen F. Austin State University then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, earning an associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. He went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in the same subject area from Wayland Baptist University and both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Human Resources Management from Webster University. He is currently working towards a Doctorate in Management from Wayland Baptist University.
As a commitment to his field, Mr. Clark is a credentialed, board-certified member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks). Building, leading and fostering effective teams has been a hallmark throughout Mr. Clark's professional journey. He attributes his success to his family, especially his wife Tanya of 29 years, who has provided a successful foundation for him and their four children throughout his career.
