Over the past decade, Ms. LePosa has established herself as a leader in mental health care, presently affiliated with Belmont Pines Hospital as the Lead Acute Licensed Social Worker/Counselor since 2022. Having joined the organization in 2020 as a licensed social worker counselor in the acute inpatient unit, she subsequently became the director of clinical services from 2021 to 2022. Located in Youngstown, Ohio, Belmont Pines Hospital is recognized as one of the largest behavioral health hospitals for children in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania, caring for individuals from ages six through 18.
Ms. LePosa is trained in treating individuals with complex developmental trauma, using the treatment approaches of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and attachment-focused expressive therapies. She also has extensive experience working with foster and adoptive populations and other non-traditional family structures. In her role, Ms. LePosa is responsible for providing services at the inpatient acute unit and residential treatment center by combining individual counseling and family-based interventions. She also facilitates social work and mental health-oriented groups, coordinates care assignments, provides administrative and clinical supervision to a team of social worker/counselors, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary treatment team within the hospital.
Ms. LePosa's previous expertise began as a staff therapist, in-home therapist, and children's behavioral health initiative coordinator at South Bay Community Services in 2014, 2015, and 2016, respectively. She also worked for several other respected facilities, including Valley Counseling Services as a clinical program supervisor from 2017 to 2020 and Preferred Care Counseling as a clinical therapist between 2021 and 2022.
Frequently giving back her time to the community in various capacities, Ms. LePosa is a volunteer mentor for the Trumbull County Children's Services Bureau. She also initiated and currently coordinates the Flourish Mentoring Program at Warren First Assembly of God Church. Ms. LePosa aims to join the Humanitarian Assistance Program once she acquires an EMDRIA certification, enabling her to mobilize and visit locations where crisis or trauma events have occurred.
Ms. LePosa graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in applied health science, summa cum laude, in 2008 and a Master of Art in counseling psychology from Lesley University in 2014. Additionally, she received credentials as a licensed professional clinical counselor with a supervisory designation from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Ms. LePosa is also an EMDR-trained therapist and neuro sequential model of therapeutics trained provider and holds CPI certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute and certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator, and first aid.
Ms. LePosa is a professional member of the Neurosequential Network. She has been recognized for her accomplishments in mental health with a 2022 article in The Business Journal, a Youngstown Publishing Company publication. Ms. LePosa attributes her success to her support system and to her commitment to pursuing higher education and training within her field. Moreover, she attributes her passion for serving children, adolescents, and families impacted by social, emotional, and behavioral health issues and trauma to her longevity in the field.
