Previously, he worked in similar positions for MilliporeSigma in the areas of Life Science Biology, Bioscience Research Content and Reagents, and Immunoassays.
Early on in his career, Dr. Zheng gained valuable expertise in senior research and development and executive management positions with Merck KGaA Life Science, Merck KGaA M Ventures and Life Technologies. Outside of his work, he has contributed to his community as a member of the advisory committee for University of California, San Diego's Center for Microbiome Innovation and the Predictive Safety Testing Consortium. An expert in his field, Dr. Zheng holds a Master of Science in Physiology and Biophysics and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with molecular neuroscience focus.
In light of his vast breadth of knowledge, Dr. Zheng has contributed to a number of articles, including "Multiplex Analysis of Urinary Protein Biomarkers for the Detection of Vancomycin Induced Sub-Acute Nephrotoxicity." Due to his outstanding body of work, he has been honored many times. Along with his team, he received the R&D 100 Award for developing the Simplicon™ RNA Reprogramming Technology via R&D Magazine in 2015 and the same award for the SmartFlare™ Live Cell RNA Detection Reagent in 2014.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Zheng is most proud of being the force behind the technologies that scientists utilize to develop their life-saving pharmaceutical therapies. The cornerstone of his success lay in his scientific training, fortitude, and collaborating with others.
