Mr. Fulton, an accomplished civil attorney, advocates for clients at the renowned law firm Wells, Anderson & Race, LLC in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Fulton practices in state and federal courts and counsels clients on insurance and contractual matters, premise liability, construction defect, defense of government entities and individuals, and appeals. Mr. Fulton is passionate about the law, embraces complex legal challenges, and diligently works to find optimal solutions. Mr. Fulton has a long-term goal to develop an appellate practice.
Mr. Fulton was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. At age 32, he rose to the position of Senior Judicial Law Clerk for the Hon. Jeffrey J. Funke of the Nebraska Supreme Court, a position Mr. Fulton held from 2017 to 2022. Mr. Fulton gained trial court experience while working as Senior Staff Attorney to the eight judges of the District Court for Lancaster County in Lincoln, Nebraska from 2016 to 2017. Following law school, Mr. Fulton clerked for the Hon. Tamara S. Russell in the District Court for Jefferson County in Golden, Colorado.
Mr. Fulton received his J.D. in 2013 at the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he was selected for the National Moot Court Team and the Order of the Barristers. Mr. Fulton served as a student attorney in the Civil Clinic and obtained a Certificate in Concentrated Study of Litigation Skills.
Prior to studying law, Mr. Fulton gained newspaper journalism experience as a reporter for the Omaha World-Herald from 2008 to 2010. He interviewed city officials, community leaders, and members of the general public and wrote City, Community, and Sports news stories while on deadline.
During his sophomore year at Westside High School, Mr. Fulton joined the debate team became captivated by the law. He was accepted to Emory University, where he was a member of the Barkley Forum Debate Team and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing.
More recently, Mr. Fulton has contributed to the legal profession by serving on the Nebraska State Bar Association Appellate Practice Section and Practice and Procedure Committee since 2019. He was a member of the 2019-20 class of NSBA's Leadership Academy. In 2021, the Nebraska Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and NSBA recognized Mr. Fulton for his commitment to improving equal access to justice by devoting professional time and resources to voluntary pro bono legal service. Mr. Fulton was selected to serve as an At-Large Member of the NSBA Appellate Practice Executive Committee for a term of October 2022 to October 2025.
