ATHENS, GA, June 08, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julia Davis Rhodes, RN, is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on over four decades of expertise in the field of health care, Ms. Rhodes specialized in neurosurgical nursing. From 1965 and until her retirement in 2003, she built a prolific career at the Athens Regional Medical Center, where she served as a team leader of neurosurgery, a registered nurse, and a surgical assistant of general and obstetric surgery. In this capacity, Ms. Rhodes checked on the status of all the equipment at the medical center, ordered necessary supplies and assisted the doctors in the operating rooms.
Ms. Rhodes initially began her career working as an operating room nurse at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia from 1964 to 1965. Post retirement, she serves as a part-time nurse to six patients with Alzheimer's disease as of 2006. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she obtained a diploma in nursing in 1964, and subsequently pursued a vocational path that challenged her and allowed her to grow professionally. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Rhodes contributes to the Beech Haven Baptist Church and to various charities that support animals and veterans.
Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Rhodes is most proud of achieving her dream of becoming a successful surgical nurse, who was fondly referred to as "The General" in the operating room. Reflecting on a long career, she attributes much of her success to her husband, who supported her passion for her specialty, and to her mother, who inspired her to work hard and effectively impact the world through her profession. Looking toward the future, Ms. Rhodes aspires to live to age 95 like her mother, and hopes to continually serve her church and her community.
