Outside of her work, she contributes to those less fortunate as an ambassador for the dfree® Global Foundation, Inc. and as a board member and secretary for Deaf Matters. An expert in her field, Ms. McGuire-Nelson holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in Social Work from Wayne State University. Subsequently, she expanded upon her professional knowledge, earning graduate certificates in Infant Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies, and Gerontology from Wayne State University, a certificate in Core Supervision from the National Association of Social Workers, a certification in Aromatherapy from the Applied Aromatic Institute, and a certification in Financial Social Work from the Center for Financial Social Work. Subsequently, Ms. McGuire-Nelson became a Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach through Corewell Health and earned a certification to teach English as a foreign language.
Due to her vast breadth of knowledge and experience, Ms. McGuire-Nelson has authored a number of works, including "Things to Consider About Public Assistance in Michigan," "Take It Easy: Tips You Need to Know Before Applying and Receiving General or Public Assistance," and "This Little Girl." In light of her outstanding body of work, she has been honored with numerous awards and a proclamation through Wayne County. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in the gratitude she feels from her clients. Within the next five years, Ms. McGuire-Nelson aims to further her work in Aromatherapy and teach on a broader level, continue her work as a notary, and foster her creativity.
