Mr. Strong is the owner of Strong Automotive Merchandising (SAM), a full-service automotive advertising agency in Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 2004 to help dealerships achieve maximum results in terms of driving traffic, achieving and exceeding sales expectations, and reaching their full potential, the company has become an established leader in the industry, serving clients throughout the country.
As experts in driving traffic, Mr. Strong's firm has seen tremendous growth in recent years. Through the creation of a successful outbound servicing sales and marketing arm and the development of various campaigns, Strong Automotive Merchandising has gone from collaborating with approximately 150 dealerships to 400 dealerships throughout 46 states and from just a dozen employees to more than 140. Looking toward the future, Mr. Strong envisions continued growth, doubling the company's revenue and client base.
Mr. Strong's most significant achievements included a record selling phase in 2020 after initially seeing a 59% revenue drop at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. After coming up with a re-engineered business model, his company saw the three best revenue years of its history. What has also set Strong Automotive Merchandising apart is owning and operating its own direct mail printing company, Prospect Vision, which has been instrumental in the execution of products and services.
Mr. Strong has found additional success in entrepreneurship as the owner of his first automotive dealership agency, Hunter Ford in Marion, Indiana, since 2022. Hunter Ford sells both new and used vehicles and offers a full-service certified parts and service center. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Strong was an account executive at Martin Advertising from 2002 to 2004.
Contributing to the industry, Mr. Strong launched the 'Next Day Traffic' series of blogs in 2008, which presently includes more than 1,400 automotive-focused articles. He has also authored three editions of the Next Day Traffic book, including "Next Day Traffic: The Secrets to Effective Automotive Marketing."
Active civically, Mr. Strong served on the board of his alma mater, the University of Montevallo, for more than five years. He has also been active with the Big Oak Ranch, A Christian Home for Children Needing a Chance.
Mr. Strong graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in communication studies and advanced public speaking and a minor in pre-law. He also completed the Executive Education program at Harvard Business School.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Strong was listed in the Birmingham Business Journal in its Top 40 Under 40 list in 2013. He was also named as the Chief Executive Officer of the Year by BBJ in 2018. Mr. Strong is grateful to his father for helping him get his business off the ground both financially and through his expertise in marketing and advertising.
