Ms. Mahaffee is a human resources executive with more than two decades of expertise and the president and founder of People Rise, LLC, a boutique consulting firm offering clients a broad range of people advisory services. At People Rise LLC, Ms. Mahaffee works with individual and business clients to provide career coaching and development, human resources concierge consulting, and custom project consulting support. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University, Ms. Mahaffee holds an Associate of Science in advertising communications and a Bachelor of Science in business concentrating on human resources management. She completed her Master of Business Administration in global business administration with an emphasis on organizational leadership in 2007.
Ms. Mahaffee began her career in 1999 as a human resources assistant in the hospitality industry serving as a human resources assistant and later worked for SMART Management as a payroll and benefits coordinator in 2002. She continued to develop her management skills in human resources positions for DeWAL Industries in the manufacturing industry, and Office Depot where she spent three years as a regional human resources manager overseeing the Eastern supply chain area, and in 2010 she was named Director of Human Resources and Government Services for AECOM. Ms. Mahaffee spent the next three years with Waste Management before joining Mars Incorporated. Ms. Mahaffee, who spent nearly nine years as the Global Director of People and Organization based in their corporate office, considers her time with Mars as the highlight of her career. Most recently, she served as the Chief People Officer at Majestic Steel USA. During this time, Ms. Mahaffee was named one of the top 50 Women Leaders in Ohio, an accomplishment of which she remains proud.
Since 2022, Ms. Mahaffee has focused on her work with People Rise, LLC. As a leader in her field, Ms. Mahaffee is board chair of the Anne Arundel Society for Human Resource Management and holds numerous specialized continuing education credentials and certifications. She is active in in her community, as a long-time sponsor of Midshipmen from the United States Naval Academy, and as a Steward of a Little Free Library..Ms. Mahaffee credits her success to the values instilled in her by her Hungarian immigrant parents and to her passion for facilitating communication. In her personal time, Ms. Mahaffee appreciates opera, gardening, and spending time with her son enjoying sports.
