Looking toward the future, Dr. Caissie's goals include publishing research that demonstrates clear and basic ways of teaching and improving youth literacy, especially in marginalized sectors of society.
Avid about giving back, Dr. Caissie has enjoyed being active as a philanthropist managing various humanitarian campaigns throughout her career. She also frequently volunteers her time with various ecology, educational, and other types of nonprofit campaigns and initiatives.
Highly educated, Dr. Caissie received a Diploma in travel and hospitality with honors and distinction from Oulton College. She subsequently received a Master's of English in Literature from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada, followed by a Diploma in university teaching, a Bachelor of Arts in English literature, and a Doctor of Philosophy (All But Dissertation) in English literature at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Dr. Caissie also received a diploma certification in python programming.
Dr. Caissie is a fellow of the Urban and Community Studies Institute at the University of New Brunswick. She is also the New Brunswick chair of the Canadian Federation of Poets, a member of the Golden Key Honor Society, a Poet Laureate of Blue Cottages in Nova Scotia, Canada, and a youth director and editor of the anthology, The Poetry of Children.
As an accomplished educator and poet, Dr. Caissie has received numerous accolades over the past two decades, including recognition as the Poet of the Month by the Canadian Federation of Poets and an Editor's Choice Award, Most Original Poet Award, and Most Prolific Poet by Poetry.com. She was also nominated for a Teacher of the Month Award. Dr. Caissie attributes her success to her love for others and her passion for her profession.
