Drawing on over four decades of expertise, Dr. Lashley specializes in strategic leadership and education. Since 2022, he has found much success as the president and chief executive officer of the Strategic Advent Leadership Christian Academy. In this capacity, he is responsible for equipping teens and young adults with leadership skills, financial and digital literacy, as well as legal and health awareness within a Christian framework. Prior to this role, Dr. Lashley was active as an associate pastor at the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day Adventists from 2021 to 2022.
Dr. Lashley initially began his higher education vocation as a vice-president of Northern Caribbean University (then West Indies College) for student services in 1981, then academic vice-president (1982-1985), and finally president from 1985-1990. Between 1990 and 2003, he excelled as the president of Caribbean Union College and the Atlantic Union College of SDA. He later garnered expertise as the superintendent of schools for Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (New York/New England), followed by a post of a graduate school dean for Continuing and Professional Studies at the University of the Southern Caribbean. Subsequently, Dr. Lashley contributed to the Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy where he served as principal and a Lead Complex Administrator from 2017-2021.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Lashley pursued an education at the Northern Caribbean University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Education in History, English and Music in 1972, followed by a Master of Arts in History in 1974, a Doctorate of Education in 1981, and an MBA in Marketing in 1995, all from Andrews University. He continued his academic efforts at the University of New Hampshire's Franklin Pierce School of Law, earning a Master's degree in Education Law, and a Juris Doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law, all in 2006. As a commitment to his field, he has been active with several industry-related organizations including the Association of Governing Boards, and the American Grant Writers Association, Inc. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Lashley contributes to the local food banks and homeless shelters in his community.
