Mr. Utt has served as a faculty member at Stafford County Public Schools since 2015.

Leading a successful career in public school education, Mr. Utt has served as a faculty member at Stafford County Public Schools in Stafford, Virginia since 2015. Since being recruited, he has taught for Stafford at the middle school and high school levels. He currently works at T. Benton Gayle Middle School where he teaches eighth-grade mathematics and honors geometry and serves as the sponsor for the school's Junior Beta Club, which he founded, and as chapter adviser for the school's National Junior Honor Society chapter.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Utt taught at Hampton City Schools in Hampton, Virginia, between 2010 and 2015 and Isle of Wight County Schools in Windsor, Virginia, from 2006 to 2010. Looking forward to continued success in education, he aims to continue teaching and is considering pursuing a Doctor of Education in gifted administration to secure a leadership role.
Apart from his teaching commitments, Mr. Utt has been a club sponsor for the National Beta Club and a chapter adviser for the National Junior Honor Society. He has found fulfillment in both roles, as they have allowed him to help students develop leadership skills and become more well-rounded through various extracurricular activities beyond the classroom. He was the founder of Junior Beta Clubs at two different middle schools in Stafford.
Mr. Utt possesses a rich educational background. Having studied at William & Mary, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in government and public policy in 2003 and a Master of Arts in Education in curriculum and instruction in 2006. He also received an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from Old Dominion University in 2018. Mr. Utt is a National Board Certified Teacher with a certificate in Mathematics/Early Adolescence.
To support his profession and remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Utt is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Education Association, and Phi Delta Kappa. He is also a member of several academic honor societies, including Gamma Theta Upsilon (Geography), Golden Key International Honour Society, Kappa Delta Pi (Education), Phi Alpha Theta (History), Phi Beta Delta (International Education), Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Gamma Mu (Social Sciences), Pi Lambda Theta (Education), and Pi Sigma Alpha (Political Science). Moreover, Mr. Utt notably served an instrumental role in re-establishing the Virginia Alpha chapter of Pi Gamma Mu, International Honor Society in Social Sciences, at William & Mary in 2006.
In light of his teaching accomplishments, Mr. Utt was recognized with a Meritorious New Teacher Candidate Designation in 2006. He was designated a Phi Delta Kappa Distinguished Educator in 2019. He also received a Teacher of Honor Award and a Master Teacher of Honor Award from Kappa Delta Pi in 2010 and 2021, respectively. Drawn to education, Mr. Utt notes his passion for the field, persistence, determination, and the support and mentorship of family, friends, and educators to his success.
