Mr. Bell is a construction industry executive celebrating more than 20 years of expertise in his field. Driven by a desire to rise above his working-class upbringing, he began his career in the United States Army National Guard in 1998. He served as an engineer platoon leader until 2006, when he shifted to an Army Reserves role. During his time in the Army National Guard, Mr. Bell began his formal education by earning a Bachelor of Science in construction management at the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2003. He completed a diploma in Army engineering through the Fort Leonard Wood School of Engineering in 2005, and has continued to pursue additional continuing education throughout his career, including earning a national professional real estate inspection certification in 2013.
Mr. Bell began his first industry position in 2003 as a senior project engineer for Centex, departing in 2006 to accept a position as a senior plans examiner and building inspector for the City of Dallas, where he would remain for the next six years. In 2010 and 2011, he concurrently served as a construction manager and building inspector for NATO Allied Command Transformation in Afghanistan helping local leadership learn to build and maintain new infrastructure created before the withdrawal of American military presence from the region. He launched Melton S. Bell Professional Inspection Services, LLC in 2013, and dedicated the next three years to building his business as a private home inspector before joining the staff of Texas A&M University as a project manager and owner's representative. In 2018, he became an assistant construction manager for CDM Smith, and the following year he returned to project management in a role with FDH Infrastructure Services. After two years as a construction manager for O'Connor Construction Management Inc., Mr. Bell created Melton S. Bell Construction Consultant LLC in 2022 in order to offer clients his full expertise and unique industry perspectives on an independent basis.
Mr. Bell credits his success to the values that he learned while growing up and to his tenacity, which allowed him to commit to his personal and professional goals at all times. He has been honored with numerous awards and accolades for his work, including an Army Achievement Medal for his commitment to service. In the coming years, Mr. Bell hopes to become a federal defense contractor and build on his subject matter expertise in military infrastructure and government contracts. When he is not working, Mr. Bell enjoys spending time with family and is active in the Masonic Order of the Scottish Rites, where he is a longtime member.
