In this capacity, she offers private comprehensive psycho-educational, social-emotional, and behavioral assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults.
Ms. Hauk has also found success as a contract psychologist for the Calgary Board of Education since 2008, providing assessments for students in need. Ten years later, she began serving in the same capacity for TRAIL Kids Inc., consulting and working with families, educators, and complex children in preschool programs. Her obligations include observing children in the classroom, developing strategies for home and preschool settings, developing training presentations for educators, and providing assessments for students transitioning to kindergarten.
Ms. Hauk's focus both in the school and private practice settings includes addressing learning disabilities and challenges, attention, behavioral, anxiety and mood difficulties, social and peer interactions, and autism spectrum disorder. She also excels in providing exceptionality/gifted assessments and PDD/AISH assessments.
As a registered psychologist, Ms. Hauk's clinical skills and understanding of child development benefit many students and families as they navigate various challenges to succeed. Ms. Hauk has also been known for giving back to her community by providing her services at a reduced cost to those in need and assisting parents with limited funds. A talented writer, Ms. Hauk co-authored "Insight, Knowledge, and Beliefs About Illness in First-Episode Psychosis" in 2003. She subsequently co-authored "Children at Risk for Academic Failure: A Model of Individual and Family Factors" in 2009.
A graduate of the University of Calgary, Ms. Hauk received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2005 and a Master of Science in school and applied psychology in 2007. She also served as a child and youth care counselor for children with complex developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs at Hull Child and Family Services in Calgary, a residential treatment program, between 1998 and 2007.
As a part of her professional commitments, Ms. Hauk is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists Association of Alberta.
