With more than four decades of excellence in forestry and forestland owner management, Mr. Pirtle has earned distinction as the owner of Pirtle Forestry Services, LLC. For the past 48 years, as a Forestry Consultant he has focused his efforts on helping manage other people's forest lands, having thousands of acres of private land under contract in Alabama. He works with loggers, forestry vendors, contractors and road construction professionals to meet clients' needs while working onsite himself engaging in management advice and reforestation efforts. He also maps land owners' properties through the Geographic Information System. Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Pirtle was honored with numerous awards for volunteer efforts from the Alabama TREASURE Forest Association and was named Tree Farm Inspector of the Year.
A public servant and an active member of the community, Mr. Pirtle lends his expertise as a chairman for the West Autauga Water Authority and is the treasurer and supervisor for Region 4 of the Autauga County Soil and Water Conservation District. He serves as the second vice president of the Alabama Association of Conservation Districts and is a valued member of the Autauga County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors, the Autauga Forestry and Wildlife Stewardship Council and the Autauga County Firefighters Association, for which he was also a former president. He has also collaborated with the Alabama Tree Farm Committee, the Autauga E911 System, the Autauga County EMA Advisory Board, and the Autauga County Rural Development Committee. Mr. Pirtle also served as Cubmaster and Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He also coached little league baseball and served as President of the Chil-Autauga Baseball League. Mr. Pirtle is a past member of the Autaugaville Lions Club and the Prattville Kiwanis Club. He has been a member of the Prattville YMCA since 1982. Mr. Pirtle is also a founding member and treasurer of the Central Alabama Prescribe Bum Association.
In addition to his current role, Mr. Pirtle served as the director of forest management for the State of Alabama and worked with the Alabama Forestry Commission for 23 years. He also lent his expertise as a tree farm inspector, law enforcement officer and was the owner of a cow and timberland business. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Pirtle worked for the Federal Bureau of lnvestigation in Washington D.C., served in the U.S. Army, and earned a Bachelor of Science in forest management from Auburn University in 1978.
Looking to the future, Mr. Pirtle intends to continue his business while spending time with his family, including his children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife. He spends his spare time riding his Harley Davidson Tri Glide Ultra and managing his Lindsayhill Farm. He is proud to have contributed his skills and knowledge to bettering his community over the years.
