Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in revitalizing natural building practices, Mr. White has earned distinction as the president of Texas Healthy Homes. Since 2020, he has focused his efforts on networking with different decortication facilities and utilizing different types of American sourced industrial hemp hurd that they use for their hempcrete system. His company also creates their own hydraulic lime using North American sourced lime and pozzolan materials.
Most recently, he and his team won the USHBA's (US Hemp Building Association) 2022-23 award for completing a 2400-square foot house utilizing hempcrete material for the exterior walls and interior partition walls. They crafted a wood tongue and groove ceiling solution for the home, which allowed them to avoid using any drywall on the project. Another of their innovative methods to reduce the project's carbon footprint included installing durable adobe floors that contain zero concrete or reinforced steel. As an added feature, the wall finishes were done with American Clay's earthen plaster which allowed them to avoid using any toxic paints or chalk in the home.
Prior to starting his stellar career, Mr. White served honorably as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1986 until 1990. Following his military service, he became an independent business owner of Mountain Stream Builders, LLC in 1997. He lead the research and development department and wrote the education programs for American Clay Enterprises, LLC in 2006 until 2009. Following this time, he was an independent business owner of Safe Healthy Homes in 2017 until 2019 when Texas Healthy Homes was born.
To prepare for his career journey, Mr. White earned a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and biology from Luther College in 1994. Following this achievement, he completed traditional lime mason training with the US Heritage Group, Inc. in 2007.
