Backed by more than a decade and a half of professional experience in the environmental, energy, and utility industries, Mr. Fletcher presently excels as a Principal at Montrose Environmental Solutions. Prior to obtaining his current position, he worked as the Director of Environmental Programs for Environmental Intelligence, LLC, and in varying roles with San Diego Gas & Electric, including Project Manager for the Portfolio and Project Management group, Team Lead of the Natural and Cultural Resources group, and Environmental Specialist-Biologist in the Natural Resources group. Over the years, Mr. Fletcher also served as a Staff Biologist with Chambers Group, Inc., where he allocated and managed staff and resources, oversaw budgets and invoice preparation, and conducted a wide range of environmental surveys.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Fletcher worked in marine aquaculture research for the Hubbs-Sea World Research Institute and as a first mate and captain on the private fishing vessel Southern Cross. Throughout his career, Mr. Fletcher has negotiated with a number of government agencies, including the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Parks Service, the California Public Utilities Commission, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and many county and city organizations.
An expert in his field, Mr. Fletcher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Science in Marine Biology and Aquaculture from the University of Stirling in Scotland. As a part of his Masters research, he authored the article "The Use of Microparticulate Diets in the Formulation of Larval Cod Feed," which was published in the Journal of Aquaculture in 2007.
