As a child, Mr. Gissendaner harbored a love of football that has since carried into his professional career. After experiencing a two-year career with the National Football League, the Canadian Football League, and the World League of American Football with such teams as the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Toronto Argonauts, and the Scottish Claymores, he began worked as an NFL scout for the Green Bay Packers. More than 15 years later, Mr. Gissendaner became a national scout for the New York Jets.
Since 2018, Mr. Gissendaner has excelled in the field with the Green Bay Packers, through which he has worked as a Personnel Executive, Player Personnel Executive, and Senior Personnel Executive. Outside of his work, Mr. Gissendaner contributes to his community in the Green Bay area by working with youth athletic programs in which his children are involved.
An expert in his field, Mr. Gissendaner holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Northwestern University and a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Kent State University. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge by completing the NFL League of Leaders Executive Education Program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. In light of his outstanding body of work, as a college football player Mr. Gissendaner won the Chicago Tribune Silver Football Trophy awarded to the MVP of the Big Ten Conference, was named the team's Most Valuable Player at Northwestern University, was selected to the Big Ten Centennial All-Time All-School Football Team, and was inducted into the Akron/Summit County Sports Hall of Fame and his high school's Athletic Hall of Fame.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Gissendaner takes the most pride in helping his Packers team win Super Bowl XLV in 2011. The cornerstone of his overall success lay with his inner drive and his love of the sport. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gissendaner intends to continue on a leadership path as he helps build his current team into a championship-caliber roster.
