In June 2021, Dr. Horn's foundation donated $250,000 to Career and Recovery Resources Inc. She has also been recognized as the first person in Houston to raise $1 million for Meals on Wheels in Houston and $5 million for the Houston Food Bank. Apart from her expertise in the nonprofit sector, Dr. Horn has excelled in economics and commercial banking.
Civically engaged, Dr. Horn has been active as a member of the Junior League of Houston, Rotary Club International, Kiwanis Club International, and her local Lions Club. She has also served as a board member of the University of Texas Medical Branch and has been affiliated with The Salvation Army and various Hebrew and Christian organizations. Moreover, Dr. Horn became involved with politics, serving as a volunteer campaign worker for Pete Ricketts for Nebraska governor. In 2022, she was also a candidate for U.S. governor in Texas. Her goal is to run for president of the U.S.
Dr. Horn is highly educated, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in economics and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Harvard University.
To remain aware of developments in her field while working in banking, Dr. Horn has served as a professional member and past president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association. She is also a life member of the American MENSA and a member of the Gulf Coast MENSA.
Dr. Horn's hard work and dedication have been featured in local newspapers and media outlets, including KHOU-11. Having become orphaned at 15 after her mother was killed in a tragic crash, she has attributed much of her success and perseverance to her faith in God.
