Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With more than a decade of excellence as a teacher, Mr. Strong has earned distinction as an English language arts teacher with the Brooklyn Lab Charter School. Since 2022, he has focused his efforts on serving in an advisory capacity for his students, co-planning with his co-teachers during the week and teaching four classes a day. He also contacts parents and counsels students as needed. Additionally, he is a valued member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the International Literacy Association and the Alzheimer's Donors Club Society, the latter of which he volunteers with as well.

While in this position, he also served as an English language arts teacher at the Charter High School for Law and Social Justice from 2020 until 2022. Over the course of his career, he has also contributed his own research to the field of education, including authoring "Classroom Research Project: Student Metacognition in English Language Arts Classroom" and "Academic Research Project: Literature Written by Ernesto Quinonez and Jesus Colon" in 2011.
To prepare for his career as an educator, Mr. Strong earned a Bachelor of Arts in English language arts and Puerto Rican studies from Hunter College in 2008. Looking to the future, Mr. Strong intends to continue rising in his career, becoming a department head or an administrator and even pursuing a career teaching at a college level. He is committed to putting his students first in his work, rather than getting involved in politics or taking his focus away from being an effective and caring teacher.
Mr. Strong thanks his parents, sister, and all of his administrative leaders for their endless love and support. "I would not have accomplished all of this without it," he said.
