Dedicated to improving standards in Information Technology (IT) and IT Quality Assurance (QA) on behalf of the financial services and several other industries, Mr. Genovese serves as the Associate Vice President and Head of North America IT QA and Performance Test Engineering at AmTrust Financial Services Inc. In this capacity, he leverages many years of experience in institutional leadership, spurring transformational change, working with a wide and diverse array of team members in senior management roles, and coordinating with his top partners in the IT sector and various business groups. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Genovese is particularly proud to have built and operationalized several IT, IT QA and Release Management organizations for start-up through Fortune 100 companies. Additionally, he has built and modernized the current IT QA industry.
Operating with a commitment to creating and sustaining company growth, Mr. Genovese previously held several prominent roles at various high-profile companies for which he consistently established highly effective IT and IT QA standards, processes and technologies. Throughout his career, he distinguished himself as the Head of IT QA/Release Management at American Family Insurance; the Head of IT QA/Engineering at AXA Equitable Holdings Inc.; the Vice President of IT QA/Release Management, Project Management Governance and Operations Engineering at AIG United Guaranty; the Vice President of IT Governance at Arch Capital; the corporate Director of QA at SunGard; and, the corporate Vice President/Chief Quality Officer at Deltek. In honor of his sterling leadership during this time, he has received a number of awards that recognized his outstanding contributions to management and systems engineering, including several corporate president and employee recognition accolades.
Outside of his endeavors in the private sector, Mr. Genovese has earned additional distinction as a retired veteran and officer of the United States Air Force (USAF). After several years of active duty as a company grade officer in Operations and Training, he transfered to the United States Air Force Reserves (USAFR) as a field grade officer in Intelligence and ended his military career as the Deputy Chief of Intelligence for the 22nd Air Force/94th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve Command from 2005 to 2011 amid the global war on terrorism. Mr. Genovese has been the recipient of nearly 20 medals and awards as a result of his service spanning 6 different Commander-in-Chiefs, including: the Master Intelligence Badge, the Senior Space Operations Wings, the USAF Combat Crew Badge, the Meritorious Service Medal, 2 Air Force Commendation Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the USAF Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and 2 Organizational Excellence Awards, among others.
Mr. Genovese studied History, Mathematics and Political Science at St. John Fisher University, earning a Bachelor of Arts. Following this accomplishment, he attended Creighton University, from which he received a Master's in International Relations focusing on International Economics. He would also earn and undertake a Doctoral Fellowship in International Relations/Economics at the prestigious Claremont Graduate University.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Genovese credits the influence of his parents and his ability to adapt seamlessly to any challenge while working to reach his goals. Likewise, his natural aptitude for technology would prove to be a fundamental boon to his career endeavors. Despite not having an academic background in his field, he gained a wealth of technical and functional expertise in IT and Engineering during his time in both the military and corporate worlds, which also equipped him with the experience necessary to lead major teams of IT and business associates to success. Looking toward the future, Mr. Genovese hopes to become known for his leadership qualities and as an agent of transformational change.
