Leveraging more than five decades of excellence in leadership in the public and private sectors, Ms. DiDomenico has earned distinction as the leader of her own company. In this capacity, she is the principal for the DiDomenico Group. Since 2018, she has focused her efforts on private philanthropic endeavors, offering her expertise to the foundation and non-profit industry. She assists with board development and staff training as well as family and community foundation consulting.
Ms. DiDomenico began her career as the director of employment and training programs for Career and Recovery Resources, Inc. in Houston, Texas earning an admired reputation for running large federally funded projects with great success. Following, she joined RepublicBank Houston in 1981, ultimately becoming Vice President. From there she was recruited by the Houston American Institute of Banking to serve as the President and CEO. After relocating to Dallas, she became the executive director for Help Is Possible in 1990, a residential substance abuse treatment center, and in 1996 was selected as executive director of Philanthropy Southwest, a regional association of private and community foundations across seven states of the Southwest. She remained at Philanthropy Southwest for 22 years.
Also a dedicated civil advocate, Ms. DiDomenico served on the board for the Houston YWCA, the Metropolitan Dallas YWCA (board chair), the Forum of Regional Association of Grantmakers (Vice Chair),Career and Recovery Resources, Inc. (board chair), Leadership Texas Alumnae Association (board chair), and Interfaith Housing Coalition (board chair). Ms. DiDomenico is currently a board member for the Wet Mountain Valley Community Foundation (Colorado) and since 2008 has served as a member of the planning committee for the Continuing Legal Education (Non-Profit Organizations Institute) at the University of Texas.
Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have been named to the Hall of Fame Woman of Distinction for Dallas by the Leadership Texas Alumnae Association in the first year the organization bestowed this honor and to have been selected by the Jewish Community Relations Council to travel as their guest to Israel on a trip designed to strengthen interfaith relations in the greater Dallas community. The trip was a dream of a lifetime.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. DiDomenico received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in French from Hunter College, earning teaching certification in New York City and New York State. She then moved to Brownsville, TX to work for the Catholic Diocese implementing religious education and liturgical music programs for youth. Upon completion of her work in the Texas Valley, she attained a master's degree in Spanish language and literature from Miami University of Ohio.
Within the coming years, Ms. DiDomenico intends to continue her work, being instrumental in people and organizations moving from one stage of life to another, guiding them to the best possible choices. She has taught at Miami University and Houston Community College and utilizes her teaching and bilingual skills to conduct training programs for the foundation and nonprofit community.
