Mr. Stremel has been recognized for his leadership as the director of avionics, sales, and business development at Yingling Aviation in Wichita, Kansas, since 2023, a role that includes directing three divisions within the department and participating in special missions focused on aviation and Cessna products, Garmin G5000 for Citation XL, Garmin Retrofit, and Rockwell Collins Retrofit. Before his latest role, Mr. Stremel served as the company's director of avionics from 2020 to 2023 drastically growing the department into what it is now.
Located at the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, Yingling Aviation has operated for over 75 years. The company is also a Cessna affiliate and offers a range of maintenance, repair, operations, and facility services.
Over the past 15 years, Mr. Stremel has garnered much success in the industry, beginning as a methods engineer at BOMBARDIER in Wichita from 2008 to 2015. He subsequently became the chief manufacturing engineer at Héroux-Devtek in Wichita between 2015 and 2016 introducing Boeing 777 parts into the value stream and a manufacturing engineering consultant at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, Georgia, from 2016 to 2017, responsible for certifying products. Returning to BOMBARDIER, Mr. Stremel spent the next three years as a senior methods engineer/operations management.
Mr. Stremel envisions continued growth in his field, where he can manage an entire site or larger business unit. He has been fortunate to have met and partnered with some exceptional individuals. He has also become experienced in managing various teams for more than a decade. Having first become passionate about aviation while serving in the military, Mr. Stremel continues to enjoy the industry as much today as he did when he first started.
To prepare for his career, Mr. Stremel earned an associate degree in carpentry from Flint Hills Technical College in 2003. He subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving as an A/R specialist and crew chief at Travis Air Force Base in California from 2004 to 2008. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Stremel received an Airframe & Power Plant license and subsequently a Bachelor of Science in management and safety and safety certification in aviation system safety and quality systems from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2013.
Honoring his achievements, Mr. Stremel was recognized with multiple Outstanding Achievement Awards. He also received a Service Award from the U.S. Air Force. He attributes his success to an understanding of corporate elements matched with technical background, strategic risk-taking, and leveraging capability and market share with a willingness to always put in his best effort to his success.
He also recognizes this success wouldn't be possible without the support of his wife Saundra Stremel and children Sophia, Brooklyn and Decklan.
