Well-regarded for his scholarly output, Dr. John was the author of "Anesthesia Tropical Updates" and "Anesthesia Essential Clinical Updates," both of which released in 2018. He also co-authored "Critical Care Protocols" and "Critical Care Survival Kit," the latter of which was published in 2019. Outside of his own writings, Dr. John has served on the editorial boards of several prominent publications, such as the Journal of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine – he is also the editor of "Recent Advances in Anesthesiology." Furthermore, he is a rankings contributor to the Times World University Rankings List, which measures the quality of nearly 1,800 universities in terms of teaching competence, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. John contributes on behalf of his community as a volunteer with various groups that provide healthcare services to underprivileged and migrant communities.
Dr. John first studied at Harvard University, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in 1982. Following this accomplishment, he went on to attend the New York Medical College, where he earned his MD in 1990. He subsequently undertook a residency in internal medicine at Framingham Union Hospital in 1994, and a second residency in anesthesia and critical care at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center from 1997 to 2000. Continuing his education apace, he next completed a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2001. Throughout the course of both his academic efforts and professional journey, Dr. John has maintained his affiliation with such organizations as the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Chemical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Society of Echocardiography and the Maryland Society of Anesthesiologists.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Dr. John has earned numerous awards. Among them, he has been listed among America's Top Physicians in the fields of anesthesia and critical care since 2003, and was named as one of the Leading Physicians in the World in 2013. Likewise, he has been named as a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, as a Top Doctor in the state of Maryland, and as Doctor of the Year in 2020 and 2022.
Among his most cherished accomplishments, Dr. John is proud to have disseminated much of his knowledge in the form of several books.
